Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Beach
An aircraft flying above a crowded southern California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded online capture the aircraft starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters said five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
